Built in the stockroom,

TagLine wasn't designed by a software company that read about retail. It was built by someone who lived it — buying seasons, vendor line sheets, late-night inventory counts, and all.

The problem was personal

TagLine's founder spent years running buying operations for a multi-brand retail store. Every season meant the same grind: vendor line sheets arriving as messy PDFs and spreadsheets, hours of manual data entry to get products into Shopify, purchase orders tracked in scattered files, and sell-through reports cobbled together from exports that were already out of date.

The tools that existed were either built for enterprise chains with six-figure budgets, or they were generic inventory apps that didn't understand how independent multi-brand retail actually works — the vendor relationships, the buying trips, the seasonal rhythm, the pressure to know what's selling before you walk into a showroom.

So the choice was simple: keep losing days to data entry every buying season, or build something better.

What we built

TagLine started as an internal tool — a way to stop re-keying vendor data and start making buying decisions with real numbers. It parsed line sheets, matched SKUs, generated product descriptions, and tracked sell-through by brand, all inside Shopify where the rest of the business already lived.

Once it was running in production — handling real purchase orders, real inventory, real market prep — it became clear this wasn't just a personal problem. Every independent multi-brand retailer was fighting the same fight with the same broken workflow.

Today, TagLine is a full Shopify app that covers the entire product pipeline: PO import, AI-powered line sheet parsing, product enrichment, Brand Voice descriptions, sale pricing, sell-through analytics, client book, and product labels. Every feature was built because a real store needed it, not because a roadmap said so.
